LIGHTS,CAMERA,HORROR (PART 1)

Mukesh Mills, one of the most haunted spots in India is said to be inhabited by the spirits of all those who died here due to massive fires or severe negligence.

Seher was an aspiring actress. She was currently working on a horror story and they were shooting at the Mukesh Mills that day. It was a night shift and Seher was sitting infront of the mirror in her vanity. She was practicing her lines when she spotted a ring lying near the entrance of her vanity van. It was a beautiful gold ring with a big red ruby at the centre with intricate designs along the ridges. She was immediately drawn towards the ethereal shine of the ring. She picked it up, admiring its lustre. Tempted by its elegance, Seher wore the ring on the index finger of her left hand. Soon, she heard the director's voice calling her out for her shot.

While shooting, Seher could feel that someone or something was constantly keeping an eye on her. It was as if someone was calling her name, whispering absurd words in her ear.

As the director shouted,"Cut!!", Seher started walking towards her vanity. That was when she heard the sound of glass breaking. It came from one of the abandoned rooms which were once used as the quarters for the workers of the mill.

As if an invisible force was pulling her in, Seher entered the room. It was covered in dust and cobwebs but what stood out was the giant mirror that stood majestically in one corner of the room. Seher walked up to the mirror with the help of the light from her phone. But what she saw in the mirror sent a chill down her spine. The reflection was not hers rather it showed a woman clad in a red wedding attire. She had a horrifying face, half-burnt. It looked as if her entire body was on fire. Blood was flowing out of her pitch black eyes but what struck Seher's eyes was the ring on the her finger. It was the same one that she found lying outside her vanity.

Seher was trembling with fear as she heard a soul- piercing scream and she felt that the entire room was starting to burn. The sound of bangles and anklets spun around her like air. An unknown force sent her flying across the room. She felt suffocated, as if the room was strangling her. She saw multiple shadows surround the room as she heard tortured screams. Just as she was about to faint, she noticed the ring on her finger. With trembling hands, she removed the ring and threw it across the room.

Suddenly, all the screams shut and all the shadows disappeared. The room came back to its original form and the reflection on the mirror changed to normal. But a thin, black smoke surrounded the corner of the room where Seher had thrown the ring.

Seher ran out of the room and without a second thought, got into her car and drove towards her apartment.

Next morning, she switched on the television and the news headlines flashed on the screen, " FAMOUS ACTOR RAUNAK SETHI FOUND DEAD NEAR HIS SETS AT MUKESH MILLS."

Raunak, that was Seher's co-actor who had been with her at the shooting sets yesterday. Seher's blood ran cold. Maybe, not everyone can escape the horrors of Mukesh Mills.
